Description
Circular walk "NaturWanderPark delux: Felsenweg 4"
This varied route takes time – so either get off to a very early start or plan on two days to complete it. You’ll be rewarded with a multifaceted nature experience that includes blossoming meadows, majestic beech forests and bizarre rocky landscapes. Wild orchids thrive on sun-warmed muschelkalk slopes, and moss, lichens and ferns populate the cool ravines. Owls hunt at night, and extremely rare peregrine falcons seek their prey in the daytime. The trail follows the bends of the Sauer with many rises and drops, repeatedly affording you fantastic views of the valley and into the distance. When you get to the Girsterklaus chapel it’s time to take a rest – the time seems to stand still there. You also pass through Rosport, which is known for its excellent sparkling water. The hands-on Tudor Museum, also known as Rosport Castle, is especially popular with children.
