Geological Highlights

The geological history of the region features a fascinating interplay between land and sea, with rock layers of sandstone and dolomite that once formed the sea floor. Over millions of years, rivers deposited grains and substances that solidified into stone, creating the unique rock landscapes we see today. The Nature and Geopark Mëllerdall is home to numerous geosites, offering a glimpse into the earth's past. Highlights include the Schéissendëmpel waterfall, the Wollefsschlucht gorge, and the narrow Kuelscheier rock cave.
