Limestone lawns around Junglinster and Valley of the White Ernz
Between Gréngewald and the Mullerthal Region around Junglinster, Altlinster, Bourglinster, Godbrange, Oberanven and Ernster, two bird protection and flora-fauna-habitat areas each extend over a total of 4,258 hectares.
The valley landscapes are home to various birds of the wet grassland, such as the quail king, but also the open country offers an important habitat to skylark or quail for example. These landscapes along the White and Black Ernz are forested areas, which are an ideal place for many bird species for brooding and for withdrawal, as for example the red kite.
Around Junglinster there are limestone dry grasslands, which are typical for the region around Junglinster. There is semi-dry grass, there are bushes, orchards, juniper formations and grassland.
Different animal species, such as red-backed shrike or shrike feel at home here.
