EXPO : La révolution de 1974. Des rues de Lisbonne au Luxembourg
On 25 April 1974, the dictatorship in Portugal collapsed and many Portuguese found refuge in Luxembourg. 50 years later, the National Museum opened a major exhibition that was shown from 26 April 2024 to 12 January 2025. This exhibition, which focuses on the fall of the dictatorship from a Luxembourgish perspective, will now be shown at TRIFOLION Echternach in a compact format from 15 April to 18 May 2025.
.
The exhibition focuses on 25 April 1974, the Carnation Revolution, and its impact on the more than 100,000 people who live in Luxembourg today and whose lives were influenced by these events. These people come from both Portugal and the former Portuguese colonies and most of them came to Luxembourg in the 1960s and 1970s - during the dictatorship or in the years following the introduction of the democratic process in Portugal.
